Transcript & Journal Prompts
Congratulations! You’ve completed 21 days of intentionally seeking God instead of alcohol. This is no small achievement, and I want you to take a moment to acknowledge your courage and commitment to this journey.
Over these past three weeks, we’ve explored both the spiritual and scientific aspects of why we turn to alcohol. We’ve learned how alcohol hijacks our brain’s reward system, creating false associations between drinking and relief. But more importantly, we’ve rediscovered the truth that God alone is our true source of comfort, peace, and strength.
You’ve experienced firsthand that when we bring our struggles to Him, real transformation begins. Through your journal entries, you’ve documented your discoveries about triggers, emotions, and the beautiful moments of clarity that come with an alcohol-free mind and spirit.
But this 21-day fast isn’t an endpoint – it’s a beginning. God is calling you to something greater. He wants to restore you fully to the woman He created you to be, free from any earthly dependencies that separate you from His perfect peace.
If you’re feeling drawn to continue this transformation, I want to share with you the Gracefully Free Framework that can help you find lasting freedom from alcohol:
First, we RETURN to God as our ultimate source of comfort and peace. This goes beyond just acknowledging Him – it’s about developing a deep, daily reliance on His presence.
Then, we RELEASE those limiting beliefs about alcohol and ourselves that keep us stuck. Through both biblical truth and evidence-based education, we learn to see alcohol for what it truly is – not a helper, but a hindrance to our God-given purpose.
Next, we REBUILD our minds and habits. Remember, Romans 12:2 tells us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We combine proven strategies with God’s promises for transformation.
Finally, we RISE into our God-given purpose. This is where true freedom takes flight – when we’re fully equipped with tools for lasting change and completely trusting in His faithful guidance.
If you’re ready to go deeper and create lasting change, I invite you to join me in my comprehensive program, ‘Gracefully Free.’ Here, we’ll work together to fully implement these principles and create the alcohol-free life God is calling you to live.
Whether you choose to continue with me or not, please know this: the work you’ve done these past 21 days matters. Every time you chose God over alcohol, you strengthened your spirit. Every moment of discomfort you faced without numbing showed your growing strength.
Before we close in prayer, I want to walk through some final journal prompts with you. These questions will help you reflect on your journey and set intentions for your path forward. Take some time today to thoughtfully consider the following:
- Looking back over these 21 days, what have been your three biggest revelations about your relationship with God and your relationship with alcohol?
- What specific moments or situations did you face without alcohol that surprised you with their manageable nature? How did God show up in these moments?
- When you imagine your life six months from now, what does it look like when you’re walking in step with God instead of turning to alcohol? Be specific about how you want to feel, act, and show up in your relationships and work.
- What support and resources do you need to continue this journey of freedom? Remember, God often works through community and guidance from others.
- Write a letter to yourself expressing your commitment to this continuing journey. Include a promise to yourself and to God about how you’ll handle moments of struggle moving forward.
Close your eyes and pray with me: ‘Father, thank you for these 21 days of growth and revelation. Thank you for showing us that true peace comes only from You. Guide us in our next steps, and help us continue to choose You above all else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.’”
Twenty-one days ago, we began this journey together with the promise from Philippians 1:6:
‘Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” That promise is just as true today as it was when we started. The good work that God began in you these past 21 days – the revelations, the growth, the steps toward freedom – He will faithfully continue to completion. You can trust in that promise as you move forward.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey these past 21 days. As someone who has walked this path and now helps other professional Christian women find freedom from alcohol, I know that real transformation is possible when we surrender to God’s plan for our lives.Remember, you are stronger than you know, more capable than you believe, and more loved by God than you can imagine.Until next time, keep choosing grace.
Note: When I first recorded this message, I was coaching women one‑on‑one through the Gracefully Free program. These days, my ministry has grown in new directions, and I’m no longer taking coaching clients. I’ve left this mention here so you can hear the heart behind it — the same invitation to seek freedom in Christ still remains through the free resources now available at hollywilsontanner.com.
